Get To Know Me,

A simple but insightful fact about me is that I really like dogs - always have, always will - growing up I spent most of my time learning about dogs, memorizing breeds, and making collages of dogs (literally). As I got older I looked for any opportunity to work with dogs; while completing a B.Sc Degree, I spent 4 years working at dog boarding facility where I had a ton of fun, but slowly realized I definitely preferred a well trained dog. This happened to coincide with getting my dog Cooper, who was supposed to be a family pet but I soon realized he was a little different than what we expected. We started training young, but as he grew he developed many behavioural issues that needed serious attention and in my journey of training him I learned how much I loved dog training, so much so I became a dog trainer with an exceptional company that taught me so much.

After a few years of working as a trainer I met my now partner Nathan, a fellow dog trainer and from there my world changed. My personal dog training journey changed, I no longer spent all of my time working on reactivity and trying to change behaviour, instead I started to understand my dog’s genetics and utilize them for sport. I then changed career paths and went to school to become a veterinary technician, where I now work at an emergency & referral hospital as an ER technician. Nowadays Nathan and I trial our dogs in sports, travel cross country to working dog events, and learn together at seminars. Nathan started his own working dog club and I’m now diving into my dog photography, you could say I really met my match!
